MSN Messenger 6.0 Sneek Peak
Have a look below. The images look fantastic. It has a semi-windows media player 9 look. The games are looking promising. I just wished they would add some extra features like animated 3D emoticons (middle finger and ass shaker would be nice).. hehehe
and improve the file transfer a little bit would also be a plus.
Images below:

Nice looking. Icons have changed, theme looks WMPish. I like it.
Then have a look below at online gaming in action. It reminds me of Yahoo games, but inside the messenger application:

Also have a look at the new chat window and icons:

that chess match looks nice. Should prove to be a great way to waste time with family and friends online.

the 5.0 has the video conf. addon that you can download, but I think I will stay with my trillian. Easy to use and very versitile.Plus this new 6.0 will be about 200 megs and take up 20% of your cpu

fog dogg,
Thanks a lot for the link. That will be used by me quite often.
ANyone have any comments on the new release of messenger?
By the way, this release works fine with Windows: Longhorn 4008 and 4015. I just tested both. They work flawlessly. No issues with the installer, and I am currently checking my mail from MSN Messenger.

I'm yet to try it BB. Soon though I hope.
I've been to that site before. Mess With MSN Messenger has heaps of tweaks and tips for Messenger. Take a look.

yes that site is sweet. They offer a lot of tweaks and tricks to maxmizing your experience with messenger.
I say try 6.0 as it is a 100% improvement over the look and design of 5.0.
But it does use more resources than its predecessor..
but then most apps do as they offer much more..
I like the custom backgrounds, the new emoticons.. though I haven't seen the animated emoticons that were promised..
the game apps are cool as is the over all freshness of the messenger.
The popup messages are larger and stay on the screen longer than the previous version as well. And there is an option tab that you can click on the popups to change the pop message settings.
Overall it seems to function 100%, though I haven't tested it fully.
The new tabs are nice, and I hear you can create your own for your favorite websites... though it might require some knowledge of code creation.
I like it.. some will some won't. They are heading towards the metallic silver look of Windows Media Player and Longhorn.. shying away from the traditional dull greys.. and into the faded and multilayered look.
go for it! What do you have to lose?

I have to say this is the best release yet. I have been testing the beta out for the last week and I'm very impressed with the new additions. and the video works well with dialup alittle choppy but that is to be expected. and as soon as the games come online I think my productivity at work will be diminishing
