A somewhat easier link. Sort of. Make sure you're using IE and have logged into a hotmail account (or someother MS id account).

Only if you're a technet subscriber.

We'll soon see. It all starts noon PST (3:00pm Eastern US Time). And there's always the torrent sites.

Many thanks to egghead for the cool .sig

    From http://bink.nu/news/windows-7-public...-to-patch.aspx
    32-bit download:
    http://wb.dlservice.microsoft.com/do...FRE_EN_DVD.iso
    64 bit download:
    http://wb.dlservice.microsoft.com/do...FRE_EN_DVD.ISO

Right click and copy link and paste into a new window to download as otherwise the links will forward to Microsoft.com.

Microsoft is also providing a QFE patch for the MP3 corruption issues that have plagued build 7000, this should be online shortly as KB961367 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961367. It's extremely important you apply this patch as you may lose parts of your MP3s if the patch is not applied. 32bit http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...a-67b859a242b7 and 64bit http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...8-5dc63d55626d patches are now available.

If there's no key then you get the 30-day eval which you can "re-arm" for another 30, 3 times. (120 days)

How to get the Windows-7 Beta Product Key:

Step 1: Log onto [technet.microsoft.com] by clicking on "Sign in" in the upper right corner with your Microsoft Passport ID. (i.e.: Hotmail, etc.)

Step 2: Copy (don't CLICK!) one of the links below to the address bar and press Enter.

32-Bit key: https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/scripts/gcs.aspx?Product=tn-win7-32-ww&LCID=1033 (Copy and Paste!)

64-bit key: https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/scripts/gcs.aspx?Product=tn-win7-64-ww&LCID=1033 (Copy and Paste!)

Tip: You can use the 64-bit during a 32-bit installation and a 32-bit key during a 64-bit installation. (It seems that getting a 64-bit key is faster!)

Step 3: If you receive an error, just press CTRL+ F5 (non-cache reload) to refresh. (I had to refresh more than 10 times before I received the key), if you're being redirected then you didn't follow the steps 1 and 2 correctly!

If you followed the steps correct you should see your key (depending on your version it could also say Windows 7 Beta 32-bit Product Key).

Thanks! Now what do you use as an Anti-Virus for Windows 7?
