I thought the problem had something to do with the video, because sometimes I would get a message that "There was a problem with the display settings etc, that it did not match the hardware etc". Once, I was able to reset the video display, and it looted up properly. Then I shut down and at reboot, the error message returned. Once I got a message that there was a problem loading "AVGCORE" I researched Google and found that it was related to AVG antivirus, so I removed AVG and all is well the last several boot ups. I still have an uneasy feeling about that video thing. I do not have any disks with the drivers on. If I deleted the video things, will Windows reload the proper drivers, or will it ask me to insert the disk with the drivers on ?
rik--the operating system is Windows 98, I did not thing Win 98 has a restore feature like XP ??
