Add/Remove Programs List
How is it possible to delete any item from the Add/Remove programs list. One really needs to do so spcially if after installing any software one deletes the software folder directly rather than uninstalling it properly.Hence the entry of the software name remains present in the Add/Remove programs list but the software orignally do not remain present in the system.
If after deleting the folder of the program it is tried to unistall it from the Add/Remove programs list it mentions that the file is missing.
So I actually wanna know how can I edit the Add/Remove Programs list.

You can remove the entries 2 ways.
Either by using a registry cleaner,or by manually editing the registry yourself.
One of the best registry cleaning softwares available is called "Regcleaner".Details here
To manually edit your registry, follow the instructions here
always backup your registry before editing it

Removing the Add/remove leftovers!
One little program I've used with great results is called Crowbar...If you do a search for it I'm sure you'll find it! There's another one called Add & Remove(I think) but it does a full install and that's not something I like! Crowbar does an install...but it's just a copy to the C:\Crowbar directory and to remove it just delete the directory and the icon on the desktop! I'll dig and see if I can find it and post a link.

I just went and looked at Crowbar...it doesn't work very well on XP!! Sorry about that! It does work on all other versions of Windows though...so depending on your setup...
I'll dig the other one up...I know it works on XP!!

Hey "Reverend" thanks for the assistance but the knweledge based article of Microsoft which you mentioned do not applies to Windows XP.However I`ve noted it down & I`ll try to do it later.
I`ve also downloaded the software but yet not have tried it.
However thanks for the assistance but if u`ll get the same knowledge based article for Win XP please tell me.
I think this will work but i,m not confermed.

I was wrong!
The program I mentioned before DOES work on XP....it just took a minute to do it's thing! I have such a mess in my add/remove that it caused the "pause" that I had!!
I found it at the below link....
http://www.winsite.com/win95/miscutil/page8.html
Look for crowbarinstaller.exe...7k in size!! Works well.
